| This view shows the main line of Norfolk Southern's ex-N&W main line at South Point, Ohio. I don't know when these new signals were installed but before this, ever since at least 1977, they had been the CPL style of signals. What's unusual about this location is that just a few steps away is a pizza restaurant! i was standing in the parking lot when I took this photo. Note the spur track in the distance: it goes into a plant or factory of some kind--at one time, it was South Point Ethanol--but I don't know what business, if any, is still there. Date of this photo is 6-17-2018 on a very warm Sunday evening. |
