As of 2-05-2016, the rails had been removed and were placed along the old right of way. The ties had been left in place. Plans are to make this the "Rock Island Trail", connecting Kansas City (Pleasant Hill) with at least to Beaufort. So where passengers once rode, pedestrians will walk, probably knowing little about the railroad that used to be here. |
