Description:  This UP 6072 is a 2-8-0 on display at Fort Riley, KS. When we visited there around Columbus Day, 2011 the engine was open to the public. Some of the controls are painted red such as the power reverse and end of the throttle. Some of the boiler extends into the cab.

I can only imagine what the kids and the dad were thinking. Probably many a boy the same age as that one grew up to run engines like these and even bigger ones.
